Keep up with important tax dates all year long.
Year 2008
- January 1st
Start of tax season - January 15th
make your 4th quarter estimated payment. - January 31st
W-2s are due from your employer. Form 1099 due from payers of Dividends, interest and other types of income. - February 15th
file a new W-4 if you were exempt from income tax withholding in the prior year and you want to be exempt in the current year. - March 3rd
tax returns due for fishers and farmers who did not pay estimated taxes and wish to avoid a penalty for underpayment of estimated tax. - April 15th
tax returns due. If you are an existing client and you cannot meet this deadline, call and we will file an extension for you. - June 16th
second payment due for 2008 estimated taxes. Use 1040-ES or pay online at www.eftps.com - September 15th
third payment due for 2008 estimated taxes. Use 1040-ES or pay online at www.eftps.com - October 2nd
deadline for establishing a SIMPLE IRA - October 15th
deadline for filing a tax return if you filed an extension.
